Family Farms will invest $1.5 million in a family farm in Texas, The Dallas Morning News reported.
The purchase of the Boltz farm near Dallas-Fort Worth was announced Thursday.
The farm is located in the Pecan Hill community, which has a population of 1,800 and is home to more than 2,000 residents.
The family farm will produce vegetables and hay, and sell the product to the Texas Department of Agriculture.
The move will allow Boltz to maintain production of its vegetables and produce on the farm, which is owned by his brother, Travis.
Travis Boltz said the family has already sold about 10,000 pounds of vegetables a year.
He said the farm has been in business for 20 years.
The Boltzs purchased the farm in March from the late John Muth.
In 2012, the family began selling organic produce to grocery stores and restaurants in Houston, according to The Dallas Tribune.
The farm has had two other brothers and one sister.
